Keyboardist - Steven Curtis Chapman / Twelve Against Nature / ...

"I love using the Receptor live. It allows me access to an almost limitless sound palette, and the programming interface is extremely user-friendly. Even the plug-ins that come already installed are extremely useful-all in a 2 space rack unit. It's perfect for my gig with Steven Curtis Chapman-his music is very diverse in the keyboard department. Along with organ, piano and EP's, he has some quirky sample-based sounds and analog stuff, so being able to split and layer VST instruments like Kontakt and Sonik Synth makes programming the show a breeze! It also makes local gigging much simpler. For example, I used to drag a Rhodes Mark II, a pedalboard full of stomp boxes, and a tube preamp on gigs with my Steely Dan Tribute. Now I just play the Scarbee Rhodes samples in Kontakt through a stock Receptor plug-in Phaser and it's 'Instant Seventies'-no hand truck needed"
