New platform means new opportunities for developers
The Muse Research Receptor allows musicians and audio engineers to run their VST plug-ins in a hardware package that provides the power of software and the convenience of hardware. The product consists of a 2-rack space unit with custom front panel user interface, and comes fully equipped with audio I/O, MIDI I/O, and a hard drive preloaded with plug-in software. The software can be auditioned by the customer and then purchased with a simple web transaction, providing instant gratification at any time of the day or night.

Receptor allows musicians and engineers to use plug-in software live, or conveniently move from studio to studio. Furthermore, Receptor’s simple user interface takes away the complexity of a computer and allows less-technical musicians to make use of the groundbreaking technology of software synthesis and effects.

“We are very pleased to welcome these developers to our platform”, comments Bryan Lanser, VP of Business Development at Muse Research. “Receptor’s technology combined with the developer’s software will enable musicians to create great music both in the studio as well as on the road, as well as enabling those who haven’t made the leap to computer-based music to take advantage the tremendous power of these plug-ins” he concludes.
