Muse Research Announces New Receptor Pro Junior Configuration

Max RAM, huge 400GB and faster processor define new Receptor model

Anaheim, Ca. January 18, 2007—Muse Research, Inc. announced today a new model of their Receptor hardware plug-in player, priced between their standard Receptor model and the top end Receptor Pro, announced at AES in October. The new model, called Receptor Pro Jr., comes with 2GB of enhanced performance RAM, a 400GB, 7200RPM drive, and the fastest processor in its class, resulting in significant performance improvements over base-model Receptor. The company also announced that the standard Receptor with 256MB of RAM is being discontinued and being replaced by a standard model that comes with 2GB of RAM and a higher price adjusted for the additional RAM.

Designed for professionals with exacting requirements but moderate budgets
This new configuration of Receptor provides the user with 2GB of performance-enhanced RAM, a whopping 400GB hard drive with 16MB cache and a 7200RPM spindle for ultra-fast data transfers, and the impressive 64-bit AMD processor, running at 2.4Ghz and featuring a largest-in-class 1MB L2 cache, and a 1Ghz HyperTransport system bus. The results when all these components are placed in a Receptor: more of a good thing.

This model of Receptor is designed for professionals who need a large number of sounds and large sample libraries available to them, making it an ideal tool for session players both in the studio and on tour.

“This new configuration provides the performance benefits of our highly-successful Receptor PRO, and optimizes the configuration and price point for our customers who simply don’t need 750GB of storage space,” comments Bryan Lanser, VP of Marketing for Muse Research. “This new model provides a Receptor model at three distinct price points for every budget and performance requirement,” he concludes.
